Mosquito Teen Deterent
The ProblemCompound Security Systems Ltd. are the company behind the popular Mosquito Teen Deterrent. They had an existing design but were suffering from some reliability issues. They also wanted to increase the output and effective range of their product.
The Solution
The causes for the failure of the speakers were investigated. A new electronics package was developed to drive the speaker with a pure signal free from the harmonics and other damaging elements which were causing the speakers to fail. The new package was designed to fit into their existing housing and handed off to their preferred supplier for manufacture. The redesign was completed within 6 weeks and has reduced the failure rate of their product and made it more effective.
