Special Apps Alarm System - SMS
What is it?
The SMS Communicating Special Apps Alarm System (SAAS-SMS) is a cut down version
of our flagship security product, the SAAS-GPRS. In a nutshell, the SAAS-SMS is a
battery powered wireless alarm system which supports up to 15 wireless sensors and
alerts you of alarm events by SMS.
How does it work?
The SAAS-SMS system is made up of a control box and a range of sensors which communicate
wirelessly over a range of up to 200m. Everything including the control box is battery
powered with a lifetime of up to 1 year. The system is configured using our graphical
configuration tool running on a PC connected to the control box.
Detectors
The SAAS-SMS system is compatible with our full range of wireless detectors ranging
from PIR motion sensing, active IR beams, smoke and flood detection to motion detectors.
Up to 15 wireless devices can be used with a single control panel. Please see the

Arm / Disarm
The SAAS-SMS system can be armed and disarmed using wireless key switches and wireless
control fobs. Please see the Security → Arm / Disarm tab above for full details.
Ancillaries
A wireless siren unit can be connected to the SAAS-SMS system which will sound for
1 minute in the event of alarm activation. All of the wireless sensors in the system
can also be programmed into our wireless receivers as well as the SAAS-SMS control
box allowing for audio notification of specific events whether the system is armed
or not or integration into an existing alarm system.
A mains power supply is available for applications where mains power is available.
If this is used, nine months of battery back up is still available should the power
fail! And of course, you will be notified immediately if this should occur.
Response
Different types of events can be sent to nominated people by SMS. This is configured
through our graphical configuration tool.
